The Master of Science in Urban and Regional Planning is a two-year, Planning Accreditation Board-certified program. This curriculum operates on the principle that urban planners require training in policy analysis techniques and that fundamental knowledge, covered in core courses, serves as the basis for all specialization areas within the discipline.
Diverse academic backgrounds offer excellent preparation for graduate-level urban planning studies. The program currently includes students with undergraduate degrees in fields ranging from environmental policy and architecture to economics, engineering, and social sciences. The School of Planning and Public Affairs fosters an inclusive atmosphere with its varied student population and favorable faculty-to-student ratio. The program typically enrolls around 20 full-time students plus part-time participants, with international students constituting about 20% of the student body.
