The MURP/M.Arch Dual Degree program is a carefully designed combined curriculum that prepares skilled practitioners to bridge architecture and urban planning, enabling them to excel in architectural practice, urban design, and community development planning. This program provides comprehensive training with specialized knowledge in shaping physical environments through design and strategic planning. Those earning this dual qualification in architecture and urban/regional planning gain versatile career opportunities across private firms, government entities, and non-profit sectors. By integrating the two-year M.Arch (60 credits) and two-year MURP (48 credits) programs, students complete an intensive three-year course of study totaling 84 credits. Enrollees must finish first-year requirements at one institution initially, then complete the other program's first-year coursework in their second year - they may choose which school to begin with. The final year offers flexibility, allowing students to select courses from either discipline while meeting core requirements.
Applicants complete a bachelor’s degree from a U.S. college or university accredited by a regional accrediting association; or complete an international degree that is equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree from a college or university recognized and approved by the Ministry of Education or Commission responsible for higher education in the country where the degree is earned.
