The graduate audition aims to showcase your musical passions and skills. Select pieces that hold personal significance, highlight your strengths as a musician, and reflect your individual artistic approach. The percussion graduate program at the University of Iowa focuses on helping you discover and refine your distinctive musical identity, cultivate scholarly curiosity, and establish yourself within today's diverse musical environment.

Applicants to the Graduate Percussion Program must complete a pre-screening process. Interested students should contact Dan Moore before submitting their pre-screening video links.

Pre-screen submissions must feature at least three contrasting mallet performances (incorporating both 2- and 4-mallet techniques), concert snare drum pieces, and multi-percussion works. Additional valuable components may include chamber music, jazz, or world music performances, as well as demonstrations of ensemble leadership, original compositions/arrangements, or marching percussion writing samples.
