Individuals holding a Bachelor's degree in Social Work (B.S.W.) earned within the last seven years from a CSWE-accredited program, with a minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) for their final 60 undergraduate credit hours, qualify for the advanced standing track. This accelerated program spans three semesters (44 credit hours) and can typically be finished within one year. Those specializing in school social work undertake a semester-long internship during their second Fall term, extending the program to 16 months for completion. The program welcomes both traditional and Advanced Standing candidates seeking to enhance their social work expertise. The hybrid iMSW option combines online and blended learning formats, requiring only four or fewer on-campus weekends per semester at either the Urbana location or Chicago's Illini Center. Alternatively, the Leadership and Social Change iMSW specialization offers a completely online pathway with no campus visits required.
