The Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition provides conventional graduate studies culminating in Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees, with specializations available in either food science or human nutrition. Students can pursue an M.P.H. alongside a Ph.D. in Food Science & Human Nutrition through a combined program. This dual-degree option allows up to 12 credit hours to count toward both qualifications, with both degrees awarded together upon program completion.

Qualification Requirements

In addition to meeting the Graduate College admission requirements, a student planning to pursue a graduate degree in the department should have a baccalaureate degree in a recognized field of biological, physical, agricultural, or engineering science. IELTS (academic exam) - 7.5, TOEFL iBT -103 .A grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 (A=4.0), or comparable GPA for an international applicant, for last two years of undergraduate study is a minimum requirement for admission.
