Our department's latest offering is the Hawaiian Theatre curriculum. This program features classes exploring Hawaii's theatrical heritage, examining native Hawaiian performance arts, and instruction in both classic and modern Hawaiian acting techniques. Student productions celebrate and preserve the language, customs, historical narratives, and cultural principles of Hawaii's people. Lieikawai, the debut performance from this program, drew capacity crowds at Kennedy Theatre before traveling to Hilo, Molokai, Kauai, and Aotearoa/New Zealand. The production was also selected as a highlighted performance at the 2016 Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival.

To be eligible, an applicant must hold or expect to hold prior to matriculation a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university, or an equivalent degree from a recognized non-U.S. institution of higher education.
