The Master of Fine Arts in Theatre Arts, focusing on design and technical production, is granted to students who investigate challenges across scenery/properties, costumes, lighting, sound design, multimedia, and technology during their three-year program, with a concentration in at least one specialization. This demanding curriculum stems from the philosophy that exceptional designers require comprehensive knowledge of all design disciplines to effectively collaborate with fellow designers, technicians, and directors. Additionally, skilled designers need proficient technical abilities to grasp how designs translate into practical execution. The department views technology as a fundamental design component and aims to provide students with balanced training in both artistic and technical aspects.
Anyone who has or will obtain a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in the U.S. or a comparable degree from an officially recognized college or university outside the U.S. may apply for graduate admission.
The preferred undergraduate GPA for admittance to the program is 3.00.
