The Asian Studies Graduate Program provides seven Graduate Certificates available to all graduate-level students who fulfill the admission criteria. To earn a certificate, participants need to complete five applicable courses (totaling 15 credits) and show foundational proficiency in an Asian language. The Graduate Certificate in Korean Studies is one option. The Asian Studies Graduate Certificate allows students to acquire (and document) advanced understanding of Asia or a particular Asian region. These certificates can enhance career prospects for graduate students in specialized disciplines (such as sociology, political science, music, or law PhD/MA candidates) as well as working professionals in business, government, education, legal, public health, and other sectors where comprehensive, cross-disciplinary Asian cultural knowledge is increasingly valued. The program can be customized to align with individual academic and professional objectives.
