The Master of Arts in Eurasian, Russian, and East European Studies (MAERES) program equips students with comprehensive understanding of the region's languages and cultures, along with interdisciplinary social science training. Participants will gain: broad disciplinary knowledge through diverse methodologies, skills to combine theoretical frameworks with practical regional insights, specialized thematic coursework for in-depth expertise, fluency in at least one regional language, capacity to conduct original research using their language skills, and strong abilities in analytical writing and public speaking. The MAERES degree typically spans four semesters, requiring 36 credit hours that include foundational courses (Introduction to Area Studies and Capstone Seminar), advanced language study, and a final research presentation to CERES faculty and peers before graduation.
