Journalism students master the craft of creating impactful media. They hone their writing skills, produce audio and video content, and capture compelling photographs while refining their editing techniques. Throughout their studies, they cultivate advanced analytical abilities and learn to collect, structure, and interpret community information. Completing the communication cycle, they effectively disseminate their findings with clarity and accountability across various platforms, including digital media. Our professionally-focused curriculum encourages students to contribute to campus outlets like Ka Leo O Hawaii (the university newspaper) or KTUH-FM (the college radio station), while also engaging in robust internship opportunities with leading Oahu-based media organizations such as The Star-Advertiser, Hawaii News Now, and Civil Beat.
