Hartt's bassoon program provides a dynamic, collaborative setting where students push each other to reach new heights, cultivate artistic development, and acquire essential skills for thriving in the music industry. The Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) program aims to shape well-rounded musicians, balancing exceptional performance abilities with scholarly understanding. Every curriculum is tailored to equip graduates for top-tier careers in performance, education, or composition. Typically, the DMA requires at least two years of study beyond a master's degree. The initial year involves full-time residency with a minimum course load of 9 credits per semester. Students may begin with one summer session before their residency. All DMA coursework must be finished within seven years of enrollment.
