Hartt's oboe program provides a dynamic, collaborative setting where students push each other to reach new heights, cultivate artistic development, and acquire essential skills for thriving in the music industry. The Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) program aims to shape well-rounded musicians by focusing on exceptional artistry combined with scholarly understanding. Every curriculum is tailored to equip graduates for top-tier careers in performance, education, or composition. Typically, the DMA requires at least two years of study beyond a master's degree. Students must complete their first year in residence as full-time candidates, taking at least 9 credits per semester. A summer term before residency is allowed. All DMA coursework must be finished within seven years of initial enrollment.
