Hartt School's saxophone program provides a dynamic, collaborative setting where students push each other to excel, cultivate artistic development, and acquire essential skills for professional music careers. The Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) program shapes well-rounded musicians by focusing on exceptional artistry and academic understanding. Designed for aspiring performers, educators, and composers, each curriculum prepares candidates for elite-level careers. Typically requiring at least two years beyond a master's degree, the DMA program mandates full-time residency during the first year with a minimum 9-credit course load per semester. Students may begin with one summer session before residency. All DMA coursework must be finished within seven years of enrollment.
