We provide Bachelor of Fine Arts programs specializing in Dance Performance and Ballet Pedagogy (teaching). Hartt dancers refine their talents through numerous performance chances, teaching practicums, and an intensive conservatory-style program guided by distinguished faculty and visiting artists. Performance experiences start in the first year and are open to all students. The curriculum encompasses classical ballet, modern dance, contemporary techniques, plus studies in music, choreography, teaching methods, stagecraft, anatomy, repertoire, digital applications in dance, and dance history. Our mission is to produce technically proficient, well-rounded artists who can meet the diverse challenges of a dance career and help shape the art form's future.
The dance performance track specifically prepares students for professional stage careers. Participants concentrate on technical mastery, stagecraft, and choreography while also receiving teaching fundamentals. They additionally benefit from the University of Hartford's rich academic offerings.
