MPH students gain essential skills through academic coursework and hands-on field experiences, preparing them for public health leadership roles in Georgia, across the United States, and internationally. The University of Georgia College of Public Health's two-year MPH program caters to both practicing health professionals seeking to enhance their competencies and aspiring students pursuing careers in public health.

The program features seven specialization tracks: Biostatistics, Disaster Management, Environmental Health Science, Epidemiology, Gerontology, Health Policy and Management, and Health Promotion and Behavior. Additionally, the College provides multiple dual degree opportunities, enabling students to combine their MPH with either an undergraduate or graduate degree in a complementary discipline.

Qualification Requirements

All students must have a bachelor's degree or its equivalent from an accredited institution. A minimum GPH of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is recommended for consideration during the admissions process.

Online SOPHAS application and fee. MPH degree program applicants must apply via the Schools of Public Health Application Service (SOPHAS). For detailed information, please visit the SOPHAS website.
Official academic transcripts. These should be sent directly to SOPHAS from the registrars or records offices at the institutions you attended.
A resume/CV and statement of purpose. The statement of purpose is your opportunity to communicate to us how this program fits with your career and educational goals. You should also highlight your relevant experience and preparation for this program.
Three letters of recommendation. List the names and contact information of at least three recommenders in your SOPHAS application. Be sure to follow up with all your references/recommenders regularly to ensure that the recommendation process has been completed.
Official TOEFL or IELTS scores sent by testing agency to the University of Georgia.
