The MPH specialization in Aging and Public Health (APH) caters to learners pursuing advanced training in quantitative research techniques while exploring comprehensive approaches to aging studies. The curriculum provides frameworks and analytical tools for examining individual aging processes (neurological, physical, and cognitive systems), contextual factors (residential, occupational, community, and healthcare settings), and targeted interventions for chronic conditions prevalent in older populations - including dementia, physical impairments, frailty, and heart disease. These research methods can be adapted to investigate various age-related chronic illnesses. This concentration aims to bridge academic knowledge with hands-on fieldwork, enabling students to contribute to observational studies, clinical trials, and intervention research focused on aging populations.
