The Department of Psychology provides two doctoral programs: a 90-credit Ph.D. in Psychology and a 90-credit Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology. The Psychology Ph.D. program features four specialization tracks: behavior analysis, developmental psychology, neurobehavioral and cognitive sciences, and social psychology. While enrolled in the Psychology Ph.D. program (excluding Counseling Psychology), students have the opportunity to pursue a co-major with another departmental training program (refer to our Graduate Handbook for specific details). Our program's quality is demonstrated through consistent success in securing federal research grants for faculty, national student fellowships, and outstanding career placements for alumni.

Qualification Requirements

Recent entering graduate classes had an average grade point average (GPA) for the last two years of 3.8. Applicants with an overall GPA below 3.0 will be considered only under special circumstances. Official transcripts from every college/university you have attended (sent directly to UF Graduate Admissions), as well as unofficial transcripts uploaded into the online application. Applicants with a bachelor's degree only, a minimum grade point average of B (3.0), calculated from all grades and credits after the semester where the applicant reached 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours is required.

For applicants from countries where English is not the ofcial language, a minimum score on one of these English Language Skills tests, IELTS - 6.0,TOEFL IBT- 80, PBT- 550.
