Our global security curriculum has adapted to equip students for this evolving landscape. In today's interconnected world, creative solutions are essential for addressing economic, ecological, and equity concerns to enhance personal well-being and global stability. The program explores strategic studies, diplomatic relations, intelligence operations, domestic protection, new security challenges, area-specific security concerns, and peacebuilding strategies.
This program employs an interdisciplinary methodology to analyze the roots and impacts of diverse security challenges while exploring prevention and response strategies. We offer an academic structure that examines connections between worldwide, community, and personal security risks. The curriculum focuses not just on essential theoretical understanding but also cultivates the expressive abilities and ethical courage needed to formulate and present practical policy solutions. Alumni have pursued careers with diplomatic services, intelligence agencies, law enforcement organizations, as well as various policy research centers and security establishments.
The degree requires completion of at least 60 credit hours. During your initial year, you'll take Security Methodology and choose between Quantitative Security Analysis or Statistics for Global Relations. Foundational classes serve as prerequisites for advanced coursework, so we strongly recommend completing Core Competencies, Fundamentals, and Core Studies within your first academic year.
