The Sustainable Peace and Justice program is offered on-campus (residential) and involves completing 30 credit hours. This curriculum emphasizes social equity, ecological sustainability, and active community involvement.

Participants learn to reconsider concepts of peace, justice, and conflict resolution, developing innovative nonviolent strategies for fostering respectful human connections across diverse cultural, religious, and ethnic backgrounds - from local communities to global contexts. The program equips students with comprehensive skills in conflict management, including mediation techniques, bargaining strategies, conflict resolution methods, violence prevention, and cooperative solution-finding approaches.

Qualification Requirements

The Graduate School requires a course-by-course evaluation report showing completion of a bachelors and a graduate degree if required by the program that is equivalent to a US degree from an international college or university recognized and approved by the Ministry of Education or Commission responsible for higher education in the country where the degree is earned.
Students enter Graduate School with no academic standing and are expected to earn at least a GPA of 3.0 in their first semester to be placed in Academic Good Standing Continuing students must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 in all graduate course work at UNCG to remain in Academic Good Standing.
Academic Transcripts - For US transcripts please follow the normal protocol from your institution when ordering official transcripts For Undergraduate Admissions the International Recruitment and Admissions Office accepts stamped copies of high school transcripts from US community colleges.
IBT TOEFL 79 TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition score report also accepted same score and paper based - 550.

ELPs must not be more than 2 years old from the date of application submission.
In addition to the application material required by the Graduate School applicants must submit a personal essay on their interest and expectations of the MA in Peace and Conflict Studies and may be asked to complete an interview with members of the admissions committee
