Lamont's flute students join a dedicated, cooperative, and supportive studio guided by Julie Duncan Thornton, a highly acclaimed orchestral flutist and piccolo performer nationwide. Thornton, who plays with the Colorado Symphony, has also graced stages with renowned ensembles like the New York Philharmonic, Saint Louis Symphony, Oregon Symphony, Minnesota Orchestra, and Houston Symphony. She instructs exceptional collegiate flutists at the Colorado College Summer Music Festival while collaborating with esteemed faculty artists in chamber performances. Thornton has showcased her solo talents with orchestras including the Colorado Symphony, Lakewood Symphony, Greece (NY) Symphony, and Colorado Young Sinfonia, as well as at National Flute Association conventions in Boston and Chicago. Her musical journey with Trio Arcadia (Flute, Horn, and Harp) has even brought her to Australia.
