A Pathobiology graduate degree unlocks diverse career opportunities across industries, academic institutions, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations. The M.S. in Pathobiology with a Veterinary Anatomic Pathology specialization is exclusively available to veterinarians (holding a D.V.M/V.M.D. or equivalent degree) enrolled in the veterinary pathology residency program. Our faculty investigate all aspects of PATHOBIOLOGY (DISEASE BIOLOGY), encompassing human and animal infectious diseases, vaccine development, disease mechanisms, veterinary pathology, One Health initiatives, and wildlife health.
Numerous faculty participate in the Center of Excellence for Vaccine Research (CEVR), serving as a hub for collaborative vaccine studies at the University of Connecticut. The department further supports the university and Connecticut communities through its partnership with the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory (CVMDL).
