Geoscience majors study Earth's composition, processes, and planetary history, particularly examining environmental transformations across geological timeframes. Key study areas encompass climate change, planetary systems, tectonic activity, fossil records, natural disasters, energy resources, geophysical phenomena, and ancient climate patterns.
Degree options include either a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts. The B.S. program offers three specialized pathways.
To earn a Bachelor of Science in Geoscience, students must complete 30 credits of upper-level Geoscience courses (2000+) plus 12 credits of related upper-level coursework, beyond standard college B.S. requirements. Cross-listed Geoscience courses cannot count toward the related coursework requirement.
