Students completing the undergraduate Secondary Certification Program emerge as skilled, compassionate, and thoughtful educators qualified to instruct grades 6-12 in their selected subject areas. The program combines rigorous coursework, professional training, and hands-on classroom practice. Graduates develop both teaching methodologies and subject-matter expertise, equipping them to educate varied student populations in secondary school settings. Participants acquire practical skills for integrating modern technology into contemporary classrooms. Upon finishing the program, graduates receive a bachelor's degree from the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters along with the College of Education, Health, and Human Services' endorsement for the Michigan Secondary Standard Certificate, including approvals in their primary teaching field and potential additional specialty areas.
