The 4+1 accelerated Master's program in Philosophy enables students to earn both a Bachelor's in Philosophy and a Master's in Humanities within five years.
Once admitted, undergraduates can enroll in select graduate courses during their final semesters. Within specified limits, these courses may fulfill requirements for both the BA major and MH degree. With optimal planning, students could complete five dual-counted courses, putting them nearly halfway through their graduate studies upon earning their bachelor's degree. This selective program is designed for exceptional Philosophy majors who have shown they can handle graduate-level coursework as undergraduates. Please note that degree requirements may be periodically updated by the department, and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences may approve exceptions or substitutions when warranted. Students are strongly encouraged to meet regularly with their major and CLAS advisors to verify their academic plans.
