This advanced degree caters to composers, conductors, and performers who demonstrate both artistic talent and academic aptitude. Program alumni pursue professional paths as composers and performers across various genres including solo, chamber, opera, jazz, and orchestral work, or as conductors of choral, jazz, band, and orchestral ensembles. The DMA program especially emphasizes training for teaching positions at colleges, conservatories, and universities. Each student collaborates with an advisor to create a customized degree plan aligned with their individual goals and interests.
