The University of Cincinnati's Psychology Department educates PhD candidates, focusing mainly on health psychology, behavioral and human factors, and neuropsychology. Students with different research interests may also apply if their goals align with a faculty member's expertise.
Each admitted student partners with a dedicated faculty advisor who guides their research journey from the first year through dissertation completion. Our program prepares graduates for diverse career paths by offering comprehensive professional development throughout their doctoral studies.
The Psychology PhD features two main specializations: Clinical Psychology and Behavioral Science. Students further concentrate their studies within these tracks, choosing from focus areas such as pediatric psychology, health psychology, neuropsychology, family dynamics, public health, and more. The Behavioral Science track specifically emphasizes two key research domains: Cognition, Action & Perception (CAP) and Community and Organizational Research for Action (CORA).
