The Plant Biology Program provides an adaptable curriculum tailored to each student's academic goals and research requirements. Students can pursue a PhD with one of three specialized tracks, each with specific course requirements, or opt for a general Plant Biology degree with a customized course selection. New graduate students complete three 7-week lab rotations to identify their research lab and primary advisor.
All Plant Biology PhD candidates take BPSC 200A-B (the foundational Plant Biology courses covering academic and career development), one BPSC 240 seminar (a 2-unit intensive study of a Plant Biology topic aligned with their concentration), and the BPSC 250 seminar every quarter (featuring presentations by students and guest speakers).
