Earning a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology opens diverse career pathways. Program alumni often pursue roles as academic researchers and university professors, while others assume leadership positions in government organizations and corporate sectors. Our program provides a comprehensive research and training curriculum with specializations in cognitive development, quantitative analysis, and qualitative methodologies. Numerous faculty members engage in classroom-based research alongside educators and learners to enhance contemporary teaching approaches. Additionally, many professors collaborate across disciplines with colleagues from other UC Riverside departments, including the Bourns College of Engineering, to refine subject-specific teaching methods (such as computer science instruction).
Situated in Southern California's inland region, UC Riverside's campus offers doctoral candidates exceptional opportunities to study among vibrant, ethnically diverse K-12 communities. As a doctoral student, you'll work alongside faculty and peers on funded research initiatives aimed at improving educational outcomes for learners across California and beyond.
