The Graduate Group in Epidemiology is a cross-disciplinary program featuring faculty from various UC Berkeley departments and the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Candidates earn either an MS or PhD in Epidemiology through Berkeley's Graduate Division. This academic unit operates under the Graduate Council's oversight and is administratively housed within the School of Public Health's Epidemiology Division.
The program unites faculty expertise spanning epidemiology, biostatistics, economics, demography, sociology, anthropology, behavioral sciences, molecular biology, genetics, vector biology, and other health-related disciplines. Students gain rigorous training in epidemiological and biostatistical methodologies while selecting a third specialization area.
