The Evans School's Master of Public Administration (MPA) program, recognized among the nation's top programs, prepares students with critical competencies for careers in government and nonprofit organizations. Through a balanced curriculum covering policy analysis, strategic planning, management, and organizational functions, students gain the expertise, technical abilities, and political insight necessary for impactful public service leadership. Our distinguished faculty's interdisciplinary methods yield significant influence across diverse policy areas. Graduates emerge ready to develop and execute policies that create meaningful change locally, nationally, and globally.

Social policies enhance quality of life by supporting children's education, providing income protection during financial hardships, guaranteeing basic living standards including access to food, shelter, and medical care, offering career services and vocational training, and addressing the unique requirements of at-risk groups. These public initiatives represent approximately two-thirds of federal expenditures and half of state/local government budgets. The social policy specialization trains students for executive roles in governmental and nonprofit sectors, focusing on creating, administering, and assessing educational and social programs. This academic track enhances students' capacity to apply analytical and managerial techniques to education and social policy challenges while exploring how these policies interact with family structures, economic systems, and community organizations.
