The Human-Computer Interaction Group explores how people interact with emerging computing systems across various settings such as workplaces, homes, mobile devices, and healthcare. Their research focuses on context-sensitive technologies, sensory interfaces (including visual and voice recognition), data representation methods, and educational tools. The 4,000-square-foot BID laboratory promotes teamwork and accommodates approximately 25 students from computer science, mechanical engineering, bioengineering, and fine arts. Additionally, the Tele-immersive facility supports around 10 students and postdoctoral researchers from electrical engineering, computer science, humanities, and dance, maintaining strong partnerships with faculty at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
