Earth System Science equips students to analyze natural physical phenomena – including hydrology, terrestrial ecosystems, natural resources, and land stewardship – across multiple scales through quantitative approaches and modeling rooted in both fundamental and applied scientific research. The program also explores environmental challenges like climate shifts, soil degradation, contamination, salt accumulation, and habitat fragmentation.
Have earned the equivalent of a U.S. high school diploma.  If you have already completed secondary school, you need to submit both academic transcripts and proof of graduation with your application documents. 
Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.000, both overall and at the University at Buffalo
