The Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies provides a versatile curriculum structure. Learners can select an Asian language (Arabic, Chinese, Hindi, Japanese, or Korean) and a specific Asian region matching their academic passions, then customize their study path. The program mandates four semesters of Asian language study while allowing specialization in diverse fields like history, linguistics, cultural studies, health sciences, gender studies, or media studies, or pursuing a more generalized track via advanced electives. This degree program accepts transferred credits from other colleges and proves particularly advantageous for Excelsior scholarship recipients, as it imposes no rigid course requirements. The department actively promotes and facilitates international study experiences while working to optimize credit transfers toward degree completion.
