The Asian Studies program provides an interdisciplinary approach with three specialization tracks: Asia Area Studies, Asia and Business, and Asia and Globalization. These tracks share foundational core courses. After completing core requirements, students choose electives from their selected track to fulfill the 39-unit major requirement. Advisor guidance is strongly encouraged. Given statistics' relevance to this field, taking STAT 108 as part of General Education is recommended. Maintaining at least a C grade in all major courses (required and elective) is mandatory for program continuation. For the Upper Division Writing Intensive Capstone requirement, AST 320 or AST 336 are suggested options. Note that a minimum C grade must be maintained in all major coursework to remain in the program.
