A bachelor's degree in Gender & Women's Studies equips students with diverse competencies, such as: understanding feminist frameworks and research approaches, cultivating analytical investigation abilities, awareness of feminist and social justice movements' historical context, intercultural awareness, engagement in advocacy work, and professional development.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
Exhibit comprehension of core principles, theoretical frameworks, historical contexts, and/or analytical techniques within Gender & Women's Studies.
Chicana and Latina Studies Specialization in B.A. Program Show familiarity with fundamental ideas, theoretical perspectives, historical developments, and/or analytical approaches in Chicana and Latina Studies as they relate to Gender & Women's Studies.
Queer, Transgender, and Sexuality Studies Specialization in B.A. Program Display understanding of key concepts, theoretical models, historical trajectories, and/or methodological approaches in Queer, Transgender, and Sexuality Studies as they apply to Gender & Women's Studies.
Apply critical thinking skills through integrative, analytical, or computational/quantitative reasoning in written, oral, or visual formats.
Recognize how human differences, or distinctions between humans and other beings, have been conceptualized and structured, and comprehend their significance.
Locate, assess, and properly utilize information sources while adhering to academic integrity standards.
Communicate effectively through well-structured writing.
Students must have high school equivalent to USA and entry requirements vary from country to country. International applicants whose primary language is not English, or who attended school in a non-English speaking country, regardless of citizenship, must prove English proficiency. English proficiency may be proven by one or more of the following:
TOEFL iBT - 70
IELTS - 6.0
Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic - 53
IB (English A – Higher Level) - 5 or higher
Cambridge English Scale (C1 Advanced, C2 Proficiency) - 169
Cambridge GCSE, O Level or higher (English) - C or higher
