The Master of Science in Psychology program focuses on developing a scientific understanding of human behavior. This general-experimental program covers various specialties including applied experimental, biological, cognitive, developmental, human factors, industrial/organizational psychology, psycholegal studies, and research-oriented psychopathology courses. Participants can engage in practical research alongside faculty in laboratory settings.
The Experimental Psychology M.S. requires 30 credit hours plus a thesis, while the non-thesis alternative involves 33 credit hours with an internship and comprehensive examinations. Students may opt to concentrate in Industrial/Organizational psychology.
This graduate program primarily serves students pursuing academic research and scholarly work, while also preparing professionals for applied settings.
Note: This degree does not lead to licensure for clinical practice or qualify graduates to offer psychological therapy services without additional advanced training.

Qualification Requirements
Have a minimum GPA of 3.25 in undergraduate courses, or a minimum of 3.25 for the last 60 hours of coursework.
Submit THREE strong letters of recommendation, with at least TWO from a Psychology faculty member. Ideally, all three letters will be from faculty members.
Submit a statement of intent for graduate study, indicating why you want to pursue a Master's degree in our department and with whom you wish to work.
Submit a writing sample from undergraduate or previous graduate work, preferably empirical research in the form of a lab report.
Interview with Department of Psychology
International students whose native language is not English must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and score at least 500.
