The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering provides students with multiple program options within a unified departmental framework. Over time, the Department has adapted to incorporate advances in technical knowledge and address socially relevant challenges. Four concentration tracks are available: Structural Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Transportation Engineering, and General Civil Engineering.
Coursework for each track draws from four primary civil engineering disciplines. These tracks enable students to specialize in specific areas through carefully selected technical elective sequences. UAH's Civil Engineering Program focuses on developing engineers capable of competing at a national level and prepares graduates for professional engineering licensure.
