The Master of Social Work Program at The University of Alabama School of Social Work aims to develop skilled scholar-practitioners who empower individuals and families, strengthen communities, and champion policy reforms for systemic improvement.
MSW graduates will gain the ability to:
Provide research-informed social work services to varied client groups, encompassing youth, adolescents, and their relatives or adults and their family units.
Champion the rights of at-risk groups, including minors, teenagers and their kin or grown-ups and their relatives.
Practice advanced, culturally aware social work with young people, teens and their households or mature individuals and their families.
Evaluate, develop, and shape institutional and public policies affecting youngsters, adolescents and their relations or adults and their kin.
Implement social work principles and ethical standards when working with youth, adolescents and their families or adults and their relatives.
