This program provides a career pathway for individuals aspiring to teach hospitality at middle and high school levels. Participants will take comprehensive hospitality management classes, complete a 400-hour hospitality internship, gain 400 hours of work experience in the field, and undergo student teaching to obtain teaching credentials. Upon graduation, students qualify for a Specialized Certificate in Hospitality, Nutrition, and Food Science (Grades 8-12). Those pursuing certification must fulfill all criteria specified in the College of Education section of this catalog. Program admission requires completion of around 60 credit hours with a minimum 2.75 GPA and satisfactory performance on an approved basic skills evaluation.
