The Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Human Nutrition offers three specialized tracks, each designed to equip students for diverse professional paths. The Food Science track emphasizes developing new food products and ingredients, ensuring food safety by studying and preventing contamination, conducting sensory assessments to evaluate food quality and appeal, and analyzing food composition. Graduates find numerous job prospects in both corporate and governmental food sectors. The Human Nutrition and Dietetics concentration (referred to as the Didactic Program in Nutrition and Dietetics or DP) gives undergraduates the foundation needed to become certified dietitians, pursue nutrition-related careers, or advance to graduate programs. The Food Management specialization blends culinary and business education, opening doors to careers in restaurants, healthcare facilities, school meal programs, and airline catering services. Food manufacturers, ingredient suppliers, and equipment producers actively recruit graduates with this business-focused food expertise.
