The Department of Engineering Technology's mission is to equip students for technical and professional roles in industry and education. This goal is achieved by committed faculty delivering specialized programs with a strong technical emphasis. Graduates are ready to take on professional roles in manufacturing, construction, concrete industry management, computer-aided technologies, electronics, and education. Sixteen modern technical laboratories train students in the methods and processes utilized by leading global industries.
The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Engineering Technology gives students a solid technical base for participating in engineering initiatives. This curriculum addresses multiple facets such as the planning and design of production processes and automated systems, the invention of new products and production facilities, the creation of tooling solutions, the setup of quality control and ongoing enhancement processes, the execution of testing and maintenance strategies, the formulation of safety initiatives, and the implementation of work methods and lean systems. Students have the option to focus on Electrical Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Environmental Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or Mechanical Engineering Technology. A mandatory internship requires students to complete 10 weeks and 400 hours of work in the industry. A minor is not necessary for the B.S. in Engineering Technology degree.
