The Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering program is designed to train the next generation of nuclear engineering professionals, researchers, and leaders across nuclear science and technology domains. This encompasses nuclear reactor design, operation, simulation, and maintenance; nuclear energy generation; radiation detection; radiological health technologies; computational method development; nuclear materials; nuclear security; and nuclear policy. Grounded in a robust foundation of physics, mathematics, and mechanical engineering, the curriculum blends fundamental principles, practical applications, and hands-on experience in nuclear-specific subjects. Graduates will be equipped for careers in academia, national laboratories, industry, and professional schools. The program instills the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct, preparing students to tackle the intricate challenges in nuclear science and engineering.
You are an international freshman if you:
are not a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or
are not graduating from a Texas high school after three years in residence in Texas and
are a student without college credit or
earned college credit prior to high school graduation (dual credit/early college high school)
English proficiency can also be demonstrated by:
Minimum TOEFL i-BT score of 80
Minimum TOEFL Essentials score of 8.5
Minimum IELTS Academic test score of 6.0 overall band (Texas A&M University does not accept the IELTS General test)
