The Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics provides students with four specialization paths: Finance and Real Estate, Food Marketing Systems, Policy and Economic Analysis, and Rural Entrepreneurship. The foundational coursework during the first two years remains consistent across all Agricultural Economics specializations.
Beyond these four tracks, the department collaborates with the Bush School of Government and Public Service to offer a combined five-year program, enabling students to earn both a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics (BS AGEC) and a Master's in Public Service and Administration.
This Agricultural Economics curriculum aims to cultivate expertise in agriculture, applied economics, and economic reasoning, equipping students to evaluate and discuss financial, real estate, marketing, policy, and entrepreneurial challenges at local, national, and global levels. The program prepares graduates for diverse career opportunities in both agricultural and non-agricultural organizations across public and private sectors. The flexible course structure allows students, guided by academic advisors, to tailor their studies to align with professional goals through options like industry internships, the Agricultural and Natural Resources Policy Internship program, research projects, independent studies, or international study programs.
