The curriculum highlights how nutrition and dietary choices impact personal and family wellness, cultural and psychological factors affecting food preferences, and overseeing both commercial and institutional food operations.

The bachelor's degree program readies graduates for opportunities in nutritional sciences, food service leadership, public nutrition programs, and eco-conscious food production. The Nutrition and Food bachelor's program focuses on dietary impacts on health, sociocultural determinants of food choices, and operational management of food service establishments. Students may pursue the Dietetics Concentration (Didactic Program in Dietetics) to qualify for supervised training required to take the Commission on Dietetic Registration certification exam for registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) status, while also preparing for advanced studies and careers in medical nutrition therapy, public health nutrition, consulting, food service management, and nutritional research.
