The Research Track fosters the examination of historiography, critical theory, aesthetics, artistic creation, and patronage through a comprehensive grounding in art history. Students investigate interdisciplinary links across regions, time periods, technological innovations, and sociopolitical environments while mastering diverse research approaches under faculty mentorship for their culminating thesis project.

The Art History MA program includes an elective Arts Management concentration, creating a tailored academic route for those aspiring to champion artists, artworks, and communities as cultural administrators. This specialization equips students to navigate the evolving visual arts ecosystem by aligning organizational strategies with core principles. Arts Management coursework develops practical expertise, historical context, and forward-looking insights across various institutional frameworks, while maintaining rigorous Art History foundations in scholarly traditions and theoretical analysis.
