The internationally acclaimed C.A.S. program in Disability Studies equips students with a framework to analyze disability through social, cultural, and political lenses.
Housed in the Department of Cultural Foundations of Education, this program develops the competencies, methodologies, and viewpoints needed for leadership positions in disability-related research, policy development, advocacy work, and professional practice. Students can choose from multiple learning formats, including on-campus instruction, fully online courses, or a hybrid approach, providing exceptional flexibility for engaging with Disability Studies coursework.
Completion of the Disability Studies C.A.S. requires 15 graduate credits. Working closely with their advisor, students craft individualized study plans. The program accommodates both full-time students (completable in two semesters) and part-time learners balancing employment or other graduate studies at Syracuse University.
