Suffolk's APA-accredited clinical psychology doctoral program offers comprehensive, sequential training in essential competencies for careers in practice, research, or academia. Our curriculum embodies the scientist-practitioner approach, prioritizing evidence-based clinical methods and research informed by real-world practice. We actively promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within our program and society, equipping students to work competently with diverse populations.
Our program's primary objective is to train students for entry-level clinical psychology practice. Grounded in the scientist-practitioner framework, we highlight the interdependent nature of scientific research and clinical application, valuing both evidence-driven practice and clinically relevant research.
To achieve this objective, we've established clear, measurable benchmarks for student success. Our curriculum's required courses, training experiences, and practical activities—designed to help students meet these objectives—are detailed in Appendix A of the Clinical Program Student Manual, along with their alignment with APA's Profession Wide Competencies.
