Stanford GSE's International Comparative Education master's program explores teaching approaches within dynamic global settings across diverse nations. Learners analyze challenges through comparative and multidisciplinary lenses, incorporating economics, history, political science, and sociology. The program features two concurrent pathways: International Comparative Education (ICE) and International Education Policy Analysis (IEPA), allowing enrolled students to transition between them as their academic focus shifts. This intensive one-year course (running September to August) delivers a cross-disciplinary examination of key theoretical and practical concerns in education, development, and policy. Participants pursue tailored studies in their chosen professional domains and can select courses beyond the GSE curriculum. Emphasizing research techniques, the program concludes with a capstone research project suitable for academic publication.
