Dedicated to investigating significant research questions, pioneering novel approaches to inquiry, fostering innovative scholarship, and generating practical knowledge, EdJS serves as a dynamic hub for students and researchers passionate about deepening their comprehension of learning processes, content, and implications for individuals and communities. This distinctive cross-disciplinary program supports groundbreaking research bridging Education and Jewish Studies. Educational research examines the multitude of learning methods, spanning cognitive and cultural dimensions, from formal educational settings to informal learning through media and social connections. Concurrently, Jewish Studies explores diverse Jewish experiences across history and geography, engaging with social constructs including race, socioeconomic status, gender, sexual orientation, and faith. EDJS offers an intellectually stimulating environment for those examining the intersections, interactions, and reciprocal influences between these academic disciplines. The PhD Concentration in Education and Jewish Studies operates within the Stanford Graduate School of Education and has received generous funding from the Jim Joseph Foundation.
