The Culinary Arts program equips students for professions in the tourism and hospitality sectors, which play a crucial role in San Antonio and South Texas's economic landscape. This thriving industry has expanded significantly in recent years, now ranking as the city's second-largest economic driver. With around 37 million annual visitors to San Antonio, tourism generates an estimated $15.2 billion economic impact. Our distinguished program enables graduates to earn Certified Culinarian certification from the American Culinary Federation while equipping them to meet the challenges of demanding culinary careers. The program holds exemplary accreditation from the American Culinary Federation Foundation Accrediting Commission, valid through June 30, 2022. This recognition allows our graduates to achieve Certified Culinarian standing and prepares them for diverse opportunities in the culinary field. Additionally, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board has honored our program as an Exemplary Workforce Education Program.
